About the theatre

Diwan el Lajun theatre was established in the year 2001 by the actor Gassan Abbas, with the aim of establishing a center for Arabic culture and a multicultural meeting point on national and international level. The theatre is located in Arara, waddi Ara, and is operating as a non political association which is supported by the ministery of culture, various funds and the ongoing activities.

Our activities:
Theatre productions: for adults for adults and children, puppet theatre, story telling Events, dance-theatre.
Guest performances: theatre, music, circus, literature, storytelling and poetry.
Lectures and conversation panels about society and culture.
Quality films screenings.
The theatre also provides a multicultural meeting point of artists and audiences.
A special emphasis is being put on training with the various performing arts:
Adult theatre training.
Courses and enrichments for teachers, kindergartners, librarians with theatre, storytelling and puppetry.
Booking performances- theatre and storytelling performances and/or workshops for organized groups, while visiting the place.
An exhibition of theatre puppets hand made with the inspiration of the Arabian nights tales.

We are open mon-sat between 10.00-14.00 and evenings according to events and prebooking.
